Giving your property its own, individual, unique website with its own domain name. For example, yours could be www.343westwooddrive.com A link to your home's website will be on all advertising as well as my four real estate websites. Your individual website will have several photos and lots of detailed information to entice buyers.

  • Placing a description and photos of your property on the Americus area Multiple Listing Service with an automatic link to REALTOR.com, a national real estate search site. Once your listing goes national it can be picked up by other search sites such as Trulia. Research shows that about 75 percent of people looking to buy homes look first on the Internet.
  • Printing and circulating flyers about your property, and making them available to real estate agents and to prospective buyers who come to your home.
  • Advertising your property with photos in Premier Monthly, a high quality real estate magazine that is circulated in eight Southern states including Georgia and Florida. All advertising is at my expense.
  • Providing you with a free home warranty covering the major systems in your home until it is sold or for one year, whichever is sooner (on homes priced at $75,000 or higher). The warranty is transferable to your buyer as an incentive. The home warranty is my way of thanking you for your business.

I added another FSBO website. Tell me what you think.

Am I crazy to help people sell their property when it's not listed with me? Well, here's the way I see it. I wouldn't have those properties listed anyway. It doesn't cost me much to take some pictures and create a website for the property. Maybe, just maybe, the owner will decide to list it later -- the vast majority of FSBO properties are eventually sold by Realtors -- and maybe I'll get the listing. Of course, if one of my competitors gets the listing I won't be very happy, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Thanksgiving Day is nearly here. Where will you be, and what will you be doing that day? I'll be with a bunch of my cousins and friends at an old, old log house near Concord in Schley County. We think it was built in the mid-to-late 1800s. It was the homeplace of Stephen Murray and his wife, Harriette Lightner Murray, and their children. Today it belongs to some of my cousins named Jones, and they invite lots of us extended family members to a Thanksgiving Day feast, fun and fellowship every year. They are very generous when it comes to sharing their historic country place with others.
